Bhangra has been part of my life since I was 8 years old. Not only do I enjoy dancing bhangra, but I am just as passionate about teaching it and taking it to another level by training enough bhangra dancers who can carry on this legacy by sharing it with others. I have been teaching Bhangra since 1989 in Los Angeles, CA; Vancouver, BC; Surrey, BC; and now in Seattle, WA. I currently teach Bhangra, Bollywood, Giddha and our most popular Bhangracize (aerobics with bhangra music) classes in Seattle, Everett. Kent, Bellevue, Kirkland, and Redmond.

What started as a Hobby has gone on to become one of the most precious things in my life - yes it is Bhangra. My Professional Bhangra journey began in 2001 when I first stepped on the stage for a competition. Since then I have represented my school, college and even my University at many National Level Youth Festivals in India. Even after pursuing my professional career as an IT professional I could not let Bhangra take a back seat and have been choreographing for many festivals and competitions. Here in the US I have been teaching Bhangra to almost all age groups ranging from little kids to adults for more than 2 years now. Courtesy Rhythms of India I have got this chance to spread the Joyous, Cheerful, Colorful and full of energy dance form, which now I feel runs in my blood, to all the enthusiastic learners out there.

Emily Dolan

Emily has been dancing and moving all of her life and came to Bhangra after a dance teacher suggested she take a class with Shub. One class and she was hooked. She loves the freedom and joy of the Bhangra movements and music. She came to Seattle from the east coast for grad school and now lives in Bothell with her partner and her 17 year-old cat, Leetah.
